What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files sent to your computer or mobile device when you visit websites. Cookies help websites store and retrieve information about your browsing habits in order to personalize browsing according to your preferences. This is why, when you browse the pages of a website or return to a website you have already visited, you do not, in principle, have to indicate your preferences again.

Certain cookies contain personal information – such as your username and/or access permissions. Most cookies do not collect information that allows users to be identified, and are limited to collecting information of a more general nature, such as the origin of the users who access the website, or the user’s non-exact location.

Function

Most of the cookies used by our website are essential cookies, that is, strictly necessary for the website to function. Examples of this type of cookies are: user input cookies; authentication cookies; cookies for multimedia content reproduction software.

The essential cookies we use are placed to improve the performance of our websites and the experience of our users.

We also use non-essential cookies for marketing and promotional purposes, such as cookies placed by Google AdWords, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Facebook. This type of cookies allows us to analyze user behavior on the website and their interaction with online advertisements. They also allow personalized advertisements to be made to a certain target audience based on interests or needs previously registered in the cookies in question.

We emphasize, however, that cookies used for marketing or promotional purposes do not store personal information that could allow users to be directly identified.

How can I manage cookies?

All browsers allow the user to accept, refuse or delete cookies by selecting the browser’s advanced settings. It is possible to configure cookies in the “settings” menu. Please note, however, that disabling cookies may prevent some web services from functioning correctly, which may partially or completely affect your navigation on the website.

You can delete all cookies already installed on your computer or mobile device or activate an option available in most browsers that prevents their installation. If you do so in relation to the essential cookies we place, the use of the website may be compromised, as it turns out that the cookies we use are necessary for its functioning. If you choose to remove third-party cookies placed, you may have to manually configure some preferences every time you visit a website and run the risk of disabling certain services and features. For more information about third-party cookies, and how to remove them, please consult the following pages, depending on the browser you use:

  1. Microsoft Internet Explorer
  2. Google Chrome
  3. Mozilla Firefox
